Electricity Human Resources Canada opened a new segment of its national job board, and launched new funding and resources for employers to recruit and retain internationally trained workers for workplace opportunities in Canada’s electricity sector. “Matching the many skilled Ukrainian professionals arriving in Canada with job vacancies in the electricity sector will help fill critical labour shortages [...],” said Michelle Branigan, CEO.

Broadstreet Properties Ltd. is getting over $899,000 from Natural Resources Canada?s Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program to install 188 Level 2 electric vehicle chargers at various multi-unit residential buildings across Canada. Broadstreet, meantime, is contributing over $993,000, adding that all chargers are now expected to be available to residents.

The contractor is helping expand the skilled trades facilities at Durham College’s Whitby, Ont., campus, committing $100,000 to help fund the new Ontario Power Generation Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology (CSTT). “We’re incredibly proud and appreciative to have Black & McDonald as a partner in our expansion plans and our outreach to demographic groups under-represented in the construction and industrial skilled trades,” said Don Lovisa, president, Durham College.
