Under a new global framework agreement, ABB E-mobility will supply its portfolio of AC and DC charging stations for electric vehicles to Shell. “We have been working together on the roll-out of public charging infrastructure since 2019, and this latest agreement takes that collaboration to the next level,” said Frank Muehlon, CEO, ABB E-mobility. Shell is targeting the operation of over 500,000 charge points globally by 2025.

Energy start-up Atlas Power Technologies’ new supercapacitor manufacturing facility should be up and running by the end of 2022. Using technology first developed at the University of British Columbia, and in partnership with Mitacs, Atlas Power’s process takes materials like mined thermal coal and/or petroleum coke and refines them to make high-grade, activated carbon—a component of supercapacitors.
