For a limited time, Canadians have access to fully funded microcredentials that aim to increase their skills and competencies “to meet the needs of Canada’s shifting economy”. Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) has launched Quick Train Canada, offering microcredentials from select accredited institutions across the country, targeted at upgrading skills in crucial sectors to “Canada’s low-carbon economy”—at no cost to students.

People with claims and businesses can now access claim information 24/7, including status, latest payments, and approved benefits in real time. They can also submit documents straight to their claim file and send the WSIB a message any time... and the changes don’t stop there.

Natural Resources Canada launched the Enabling Small Modular Reactors Program to promote the safe commercial development of SMRs. “As Canada advances toward a low-carbon economy, many forms of clean energy are needed to power the growing demand for clean, affordable, and reliable electricity,” says NRCan, adding that the next generation of nuclear technologies will play an important role as Canada faces growing energy demands.

Humber College has received a donation from Dewalt that will support students who are training to enter the skilled trades. “We believe it is important to work with programs such as those offered by Humber to help ensure that Canada’s young tradespeople have the training and tools they need for their future success,” said Allan Hawes. The gift will be used to establish the Dewalt Pathways to the Trades Scholarships. Two scholarships will be awarded annually, as well as funding provided for “emergency bursaries”.
