A new report shows that 4000 MW to 5000 MW of waterpower is available in Ontario, and can make a significantly increased contribution to toward helping the province meet its emerging electricity needs and decarbonization objectives. Prepared by Ontairo Power Generation, the report “Made-in-Ontario northern hydroelectric opportunities” focuses on new waterpower development opportunities in Northern Ontario, where the bulk of that waterpower potential is located.

The Charging Interface Initiative—a global industry association driving standards for electric vehicle charging—recently welcomed Eaton as a Core member. “At Eaton, we believe global technology standards are a critical catalyst for accelerating the adoption of safe, low-carbon electric transportation,” said Joseph Cappeta, EV charging infrastructure integration leader.

The monthly total value of building permits in Canada decreased 4.0% in January to $9.8 billion. The residential sector declined 6.6% to $6.1 billion in January. The total value of non-residential sector permits was up slightly by 0.7% to $3.7 billion in January, with gains in the commercial component offsetting losses in both the industrial and institutional components.
