Orange EV expands zero-emission truck sales in Canada

Orange EV—a heavy-duty electric truck manufacturer—has expanded into the Canadian market. Yard trucks are used to move trailers and containers at distribution centres, manufacturing plants, warehouses, rail intermodal sites, ports, and other such facilities. According to Orange, its solution of trucks and chargers offers a reliable and cost-effective solution to traditional diesel units, often achieving payback “in less than three years in heavy-use operations, even without incentives”.

Glencore helps advance battery EV expertise at Cambrian

Cambrian College’s Battery Electric Vehicle Lab and Indigenous students both got a shot in the arm from Glencore Canada Corp.–Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations with a $350,000 donation. The investment will be directed toward various aspects of the college’s BEV lab, including its construction, annual operating costs and equipment procurement, plus an endowment fund that will provide annual bursaries to Indigenous students.

He’s always prepared to brag.” She did not come to the electrical trade by the traditional means. That is, no one in her family is an electrician—or in a construction trade, for that matter—nor was she inspired by a high school teacher or the like. Instead, she decided one day she would just do it. » Meet Erin

Women IN power – Lora Cardinal

If anything galvanized Lora Cardinal’s interest in pursuing the skilled trades, it was when her family moved to Fort McMurray, Alta., where—because of the oil industry—“any trade is very popular”. While still in high school, she broached her Native Liaison about the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), who excitedly encouraged her to go for it, “because I would be one of the first aboriginal students to start something like that”. » Meet Lora
