Lights out for Universal Douglas Lighting

“All manufacturing operations will cease immediately and our facilities across North America are estimated to close by July 2023,” writes Steve Wybo, chief restructuring officer, in a letter to customers announcing that Universal Douglas Lighting Americas is ceasing operations. In a separate statement provided to Electrical Business Magazine, Wybo points to “the lasting impact of the Covid-19 pandemic”, which has “hit all sides of Universal Douglas Lighting Americas Inc.”.


The Baron Group intends to merge with AD

“We see great benefits for our distributors from this new relationship with AD,” said Matthew Beasley, general manager, The Baron Group. “Our interactions with their team in this process have been tremendous, and our members cannot wait to begin working with the AD community to achieve success together.” Serving independent groundwater systems distributors for over 30 years, The Baron Group intends to merge with AD, North America’s largest marketing/buying group for construction and industrial supplies.
