The total monthly value of building permits in Canada increased 6.1% in June to $11.6 billion, with a sizeable 67.2% increase (+$619.3 million) in the institutional component, reports Statistics Canada. In fact, hospital construction intentions led gains in non-residential permit values, which increased 20.4% to $4.7 billion in June.

Canada is providing $650,000 to QUEST Canada to evolve and adapt its Accelerating Implementation of Renewable Energy project to expand knowledge of local energy systems, and develop pathways to accelerate clean energy opportunities. AIRE for Indigenous Communities will be deployed over three years with Pelican Narrows and Southend in Northern Saskatchewan (governed by the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation), and Frog Lake First Nation in Alberta.
