Hydro-Quebec plans energy efficiency, renewables, infrastructure shopping spree

Hydro-Quebec’s “Action Plan 2035: Towards a decarbonized and prosperous Québec” outlines the measures the utility will undertake to reduce GHGs, meet expected growth in electricity demand, and offer customers a reliable, simple and affordable service. Energy efficiency will play a key role in helping reduce customers’ electricity bills. Hydro-Quebec aims to double energy savings to 21 TWh, or 3500 MW, by 2035.


19% of Canadian businesses still rely on run-to-fail maintenance – Survey

Nearly 3/4 of industrial businesses (68%) experience unplanned outages at least once a month, costing the typical Canadian business close to $242,000/hour. Despite this, 19% of Canadian businesses surveyed still rely on run-to-fail maintenance. These findings come from the latest “Value of Reliability” survey report, which gathered responses from 3215 plant maintenance decision-makers around the world.
