NS Power, Mi’kmaw partner on Atlantic’s largest energy storage project

Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is committing $138.2 million to support the development of Atlantic Canada’s “largest planned energy storage project” by Nova Scotia Power Inc., in collaboration with Wskijinu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency Ltd. (WMA)—an economic limited partnership owned by 13 Mi’kmaw communities. NS Power will receive a loan of up to $120.2 million while WMA receives an equity loan of up to $18 million.


Hydro-Quebec selects 8 wind farm projects totalling 1550 MW

In response to a call for tenders it issued in March 2023, Hydro-Quebec reports it has selected eight bids from five developers for a total of 1550 MW of windpower contract capacity. All projects will be developed in partnership with the local community, says Hydro-Quebec, and six will be achieved in collaboration with Indigenous communities.
