Building construction investment sees ever-so-slight growth in May 2024

Month over month, investment in building construction edged up 0.8% to $20.8 billion in May, reports Statistics Canada, rebounding from a 2.0% decrease in April. Both non-residential (+0.6% to $6.4 billion) and residential (+0.9% to $14.4 billion) sectors rose slightly in May. Investment in non-residential construction rose slightly in May, increasing 0.6% to $6.4 billion.


Canada Green Building Strategy prioritizes energy efficiency for homes and buildings

Natural Resources Canada released the Canada Green Buildings Strategy (CGBS), saying it will drive energy efficiency improvements in Canadians’ homes and buildings, with a focus on addressing affordability and reducing GHG emissions. The strategy aims to: accelerate retrofits of existing buildings; ensure buildings are built to be energy-efficient, climate-resilient, and affordable; seize economic opportunities.

All smiles as AD volunteers gather for Giving Back to Case for Smiles

AD associates from across North America gathered in June for a Giving Back event in support of Case for Smiles.
