Silicon Ranch delivers Canada’s largest behind-the-meter solar project, in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland

The Scotford Solar Farm adjacent to Shell’s Energy & Chemicals Park (near Edmonton) has reached commercial operation. The 58-MW (MWAC) facility is the largest behind-the-meter solar project in Canada, says Silicon Ranch—the North American solar platform for Shell that will own, operate, and maintain the facility. The project “represents a successful outcome for our partners at Shell Canada and our partners in Strathcona County” said Silicon Ranch’s Reagan Farr.


Alberta and Ontario buddy up to tackle skilled trades shortage

The governments of Alberta and Ontario have agreed to work together to address the skilled trades labour shortage. Under a Memorandum of Understanding, the provinces will share expertise and information, and explore an international credential recognition framework for skilled trades that will enhance this process and support mobility between these jurisdictions.
