In British Columbia, employers at construction sites with 25 or more workers are now required to provide flush toilets, handwashing facilities, and clean washrooms. Washrooms must be maintained in proper working order, and cleaned and sanitized regularly. Records of maintenance and cleaning activities must be kept for at least 30 days.

Following a strong July—during which construction intentions rose sharply—the total value of building permits in Canada decreased by $858.1 million (-7.0%) to $11.5 billion in August. In the non-residential sector, the commercial (-$46.2 million) and industrial (-$42.6 million) components contributed to August’s decline, but the institutional component outright tanked, declining nearly 30%!
