Investment in building construction across Canada edged down 0.5% (-$96.6 million) to $21.4 billion in November, following a 1.1% decrease in October, reports Statistics Canada. Year over year, however, investment in building construction grew 2.7% in November. The monthly decline in investment was driven by the residential sector (-$168.1 million to $14.8 billion), which was partially offset by a gain in the non-residential sector (+$71.5 million to $6.6 billion).

Canada Infrastructure Bank has reached financial close on a $45.8-million loan to support the development of the 34-MW Benjamin Mill wind farm in Hants County. The project is a partnership between independent power producer Natural Forces and Wskijnu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency (WMA), the corporate body wholly owned by the 13 Mi’kmaq bands in Nova Scotia.
