Among the guests was Southern Company—the customer who bought the 10 millionth transformer. In a twist of fate, Southern Company (through a subsidiary) actually received the plant’s very first transformer!

The total value of investment in building construction increased 0.4% (+$87.4 million) to $22.7 billion in July 2025, reports Statistics Canada, with both residential and non-residential sectors recording increases of 0.4%. Investment in multi-unit construction decreased $110.9 million to $8.9 billion. The decline was driven by Ontario (-$176.3 million), but partially offset by growth in Quebec (+$64.8 million).
