Hydro One Networks Inc. has filed an application with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to construct a new double-circuit 230-kilovolt transmission line within an existing Hydro One transmission corridor in between Thorold and Welland, Ont. The transmission line would connect Thorold, Ont.'s Abitbi Consolidated Junction to the Crowland Transformer Station (TS) in Welland. In addition to the line work, this project would also involve the expansion of the Crowland TS. The project, an approximately $311 million investment, is expected to be complete by 2029.
