Mackenzie Health converts to 100% LEDs

Mackenzie Health, a hospital serving the residents of the Regional Municipality of York Region in Ontario, was presented with a cheque for $127,314 and a Certificate of Achievement from Alectra Utilities.


Vancouver Island Health upgrades boilers, saves $17K

Three new boilers at Eagle Park Lodge in Qualicum Beach, B.C. will save about $17,000 annually in costs, the Vancouver Island Health Authority reports, and in recognition of this reduction, FortisBC has awarded Island Health a $30,000 incentive.


New legislation paves the way for “Efficiency Manitoba”

Acting on the recommendation of the Public Utilities Board, the Manitoba government is introducing legislation that would establish the framework for a new, stand-alone Crown corporation—outside of Manitoba Hydro—to deliver DSM (demand-side management) initiatives promoting energy efficiency and conservation.
