The 24-acre glass greenhouse received incentives for two projects completed in 2021. The projects equate to a natural gas savings of 10,607,864 cubic metres per year. Flavor has used the savings to invest in energy curtains, zip doors and a planned 25-acre future expansion.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is giving over $4.4 million to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association for a project that will fund “deep energy retrofits” in houses and low-rise multi-unit residential buildings. The aim is to demonstrate various approaches that can be used to achieve net zero-energy-ready (NZER) performance in these units.
