Smart home tech important, yet few homeowners adopt it

“Our study found 9 in 10 Canadian homeowners say it’s important to have energy-efficient appliances or devices when buying, building, or renovating a home,” said David O’Reilly, Schneider Electric Canada. However, the study finds that while 79% of homeowners are familiar with smart home solutions, less than 1 in 5 have adopted the technology.


Johnson Controls and Canada Infrastructure Bank commit $125MIL

The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and Johnson Controls (JCI) have signed an agreement that commits more than $125 million to accelerate private sector decarbonization retrofit projects across Canada. Under the agreement, CIB will invest up to $100 million toward commercial, industrial, manufacturing and multi-residential buildings through JCI’s OpenBlue Net Zero Buildings as a Service offering.


ASHRAE Industrial Ventilation Conference

Registration is open for the 13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control, being held in June in downtown Toronto. (The 2022 ASHRAE Annual Conference will held immediately following this event at the same location.) The conference theme is “leading-edge industrial ventilation technologies for a low-carbon environment”, which includes advancements in energy efficiency.
