5% energy retrofit tax credit for BC building owners

“Building owners want to reduce the energy use of their home, office or retail space, but the upfront costs of these retrofits can be a challenge for people,” said Selina Robinson, Minister of Finance. “This Clean Building Tax Credit will help owners of larger—often older and energy-inefficient buildings—invest in cleaner energy retrofits by putting dollars back into their pockets.”

Riemer replaces now-former CEO Steve MacDonald, who announced he would be stepping down. He most recently served as assistant deputy minister, Alberta Region of Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan).


2022 champions for energy-efficient products, homes, buildings

Energy Star Canada announced the recipients of its 2022 awards “for their remarkable contributions in promoting the most energy-efficient products, new homes and buildings”. Since the program’s inception in 2001, Energy Star-certified products are estimated to have saved about 237 petajoules of energy.
