Canada’s first retrofitted carbon-neutral school

John Paul II Catholic Secondary School in Ontario’s London District Catholic School Board is the first retrofitted carbon neutral school in Canada. The implemented improvements will greatly reduce GHG emissions, as systems previously required to heat, cool and provide electricity to the school have been brought to near zero emissions.


Net zero, emissions, penalties... sustainability is crucial for facilities management

While Canada has set net-zero goals for 2050, the associated legislation does not include clear-cut information about what businesses should do to help meet that target. Not surprisingly, some business leaders admit they will, instead, invent net-zero definitions for their companies.

ECO Canada released a report on the opportunities and consequent gaps in the building sector as Canada works toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
