Energy Star Canada recognizes its 2022 champions

Energy Star Canada is a voluntary partnership between the Government of Canada and more than 1000 organizations. Since the program’s inception in 2001, Energy Star-certified products are estimated to have saved about 237 petajoules of energy, says Natural Resources Canada, and avoided approximately 26 megatonnes of GHG emissions.


Hilo expands smart energy management service to businesses

Citing a second successful season in the residential sector, Hydro-Quebec subsidiary Hilo is now expanding its offer to businesses across Quebec. “Hilo aims to serve as a virtual generating station by coordinating electricity demand to meet the needs of the power system,” said Sébastien Fournier, president & CEO, Hilo. “Organizations that use energy wisely help decrease future electricity needs and limit greenhouse gas emissions.”

FortisBC piloting ThermoLift and Stone Mountain gas heat pumps

FortisBC Energy Inc. says it is installing “the next generation of high-efficiency home and water heating equipment” in 20 residential homes across the Lower Mainland and Southern Interior as part of a pilot program. “These heat pumps will give our customers the ability to upgrade to the next generation of high-efficiency gas equipment, helping them lower their energy use and GHG emissions,” said Danielle Wensink. » Read more
