McCauley and Kinsmen community clubs getting energy efficiency upgrades

The Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program is providing over $1 million to help modernize the McCauley and Kinsmen community clubs in Edmonton and area. For starters, $781,595 will help the Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters (BGCBigs) of Edmonton & Area to make energy-efficient upgrades to the McCauley Club, located in the city’s McCauley community.


Help shape the 2025 editions of the National Model Codes

The Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes invites you to have your say in third Public Review of proposed changes to the 2020 editions of the National Model Codes, in preparation for the 2025 editions. The National Model Codes are: National Building Code of Canada (NBC), National Plumbing Code of Canada (NPC), National Fire Code of Canada (NFC), National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NEBC), and National Farm Building Code of Canada.


Where is largest portion of government’s cleantech spending being directed?

Government funding provided to businesses for energy-related R&D spending rose by 34.8% to $186 million in 2021, finds a report by Statistics Canada. In fact, an increase in government funding was recorded in all areas related to cleantech, with the largest portion being directed toward energy efficiency, at 39.2% ($73 million), followed by renewable energy resources, at 16.1% ($30 million).

Canal and Polar recognized for energy and emissions savings

Congratulations to Canadian firms Polar Engineering (Victoria, B.C.) and Canal Marine and Industrial (St. Catharines, Ont.) for realizing “significant energy and environmental savings”.
