The Green Municipal Fund is parting with $6.2 million to reduce GHG emissions from municipal buildings in the Town of Beckwith and the Region of Peel in Ontario. Beckwith, for starters, is receiving a $750,000 grant and a $5-million loan to replace its aging municipal building with a new high-performance, net-zero facility.

Fenestration Canada has shared an update on the federal Greener Homes Grant program courtesy of the Canadian Association of Consulting Energy Advisors. The Greener Homes grant was launched in 2021, offering up to $5000 in rebates to homeowners for energy-efficient window and door upgrades.

Stationary battery manufacturer Hithium’s 300Ah cell-based modules feature the company’s proprietary immersion liquid-cooling technology. The first power station to be entirely supplied with liquid-cooling battery products features Hithium’s technology, with the manufacturer serving as core provider for the 140MWh plant in China’s Guangdong Province. Hithium’s 300Ah cell broke ground with its 12,000 cycle life and <2% degradation in the first 1000 cycles.

To help build more “clean energy” projects and reduce electricity costs in Indigenous communities, Ontario is increasing funding for the province’s Indigenous Energy Support Programs by $5 million, bringing the total annual spend to $15 million. Administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator, 93 projects across 58 Indigenous communities will receive funding this year.
