Leviton’s Network Solutions Business—manufacturer of copper and fiber cabling systems—has achieved carbon neutrality, inclusive of Scopes 1 and 2, and select Scope 3, emissions. “Now that [we have] achieved carbon neutrality two years earlier than planned, we are more excited than ever to achieve carbon neutrality company-wide by 2030,” said Ross Goldman, chief sustainability officer.

Founded in 1884 as a convent and school in Richmond, Que., the Couvent Mont-Saint-Patrice currently hosts cultural events, shows, and community organizations. Daikin Comfort Technologies (DCT) Manufacturing is recalling Daikin FIT, Amana S-series, and Goodman SD heat pumps due to risk of excessive heat exposure. This recall involves about 5,549 units in Canada, and about 56,028 in the U.S. Refer to the chart for the model numbers included in the recall (see full news item fort chart, photos, and more info). The units are beige, and the model name is printed on the outside of the unit. The model number is located on the serial plate on the side of the unit.

Hilo has partnered with Quebecor to offer its subsidiary employees a special offer on Hilo’s smart home service, which according to Hydro-Quebec’s Dave Rhéaume, is “an indispensable tool for saving electricity and participating in the energy transition”. The initiative, Rhéaume continues, will help mobilize more Quebecers to adopt good energy management practices.

Natural Resources Canada’s Green Industrial Facilities and Manufacturing Program (GIFMP) provides cost-shared financial assistance to support the implementation of energy efficiency and energy management solutions. GIFMP is now providing industrial facilities with an application package under its “Industrial Facility Track”, which provides direct-to-industry support to help implement energy efficiency and energy management solutions within their respective facilities.
