Norbec officially opened its new $45-million manufacturing plant in Strathroy, Ont. This new plant—the company’s first in the province—joins Norbec’s facility fleet in Canada, alongside its Boucherville and Saint-Hyacinthe locations in Quebec. Norbec is a North American manufacturer of insulated metal panels, walk-in coolers, and freezers.

A new platform designed to serve as a centralized resource hub for all things related to building retrofits has been unveiled by Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency, Buildings Division. The Retrofit Hub hosts a collection of resources to help plan, finance, and implement retrofit projects in commercial real estate (CRE), institutional and public buildings, and multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs).

Cancoil Thermal Corp., a manufacturer of commercial refrigeration products and finned tube coils, is investing over $16 million to install new equipment at its existing facilities in Kingston, Ont. “The funding received will assist Cancoil with investments in new, state-of-the-art equipment that will enhance our production capacity and efficiency,” said Cancoil’s Monika Datta.
