The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) announced the honorees of its 2024 International Awards, which celebrate “individuals, organizations, agencies, and corporations who are leading the way in innovation and excellence”. Among those honorees is Canada’s Mathieu Côte, the executive director of Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET), an organization delivering energy management capacity-building across Canada and around the world.

Ottawa is providing funding to improve the energy efficiency of The Hearth, located at 4051 4th Avenue in Whitehorse. The new permanent supportive housing project involves transforming the former Coast High Country Inn into 67 self-contained suites to provide “affordable, secure, and supportive housing for a mixed demographic of individuals in downtown Whitehorse”.

Enwave Energy Corp. celebrated the commissioning of the fourth intake to its Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) district cooling system in Toronto during a ceremony at the company’s John Street Energy Centre in downtown Toronto. The expansion has effectively increased the DLWC’s cooling capacity by 60%, with the capability of providing service to an additional 40 buildings.
