Natural Resources Canada’s Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative has opened a second application intake to support capacity-building activities that reduce barriers to deep retrofits and support market transformation. DRAI provides funding to “retrofit accelerators” and other initiatives that facilitate the development of projects in commercial, institutional, and mid- or high-rise multi-unit residential buildings.

Oshawa Power has selected Trilliant to support its suite metering program for multi-unit buildings, which aims to achieve energy savings and provide additional options for customers. Through its suite metering program, the utility provides each unit within residential and commercial buildings with its own meter so that customers only pay for the electricity they use.

Evercloak has received $1.1 million in NRCan funding and $1.5 million US from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) toward the development of its membrane-based HVAC system. This technology uses graphene oxide composite membranes that allow water molecules to pass through while keeping air out to dehumidify air prior to cooling.
