A community utility partnership in Ottawa will see the implementation of a sewage energy exchange system (SEES) to tap the thermal potential of wastewater and provide building heating and cooling to Dream’s Odenak development at 665 Albert Street. “Hydro Ottawa is proud to be at the forefront of this innovation, demonstrating the power of collaboration and forward-thinking technology, including the highly efficient and Canadian-made Sharc Energy systems, in building a sustainable future for the community we serve,” said president & CEO Bryce Conrad.

With a focus on sustainable development, energy efficiency, water efficiency, and innovation, the products entered into MCEE’s New Product Competition were one of the main attractions of the expo. The 2025 competition attracted a whopping 87 products across eight categories. From those, 24 made it to the finals; eight products were crowned winners in their respective categories, plus one overall winner.
