Save on Energy Retrofit program update includes data centres, greenhouses, and more

Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator has provided Retrofit Program updates, noting that incentives continue to be available through the Save on Energy Retrofit program for businesses to undertake energy efficiency upgrades. These latest changes increased incentive rates for custom non-lighting measures, an updated list of local areas qualifying for regional adders, new prescriptive data centre measures, updated measure assumptions and more.


Toronto Hydro and Open to offer no-cost, AI-powered retrofit planning tool

Toronto Hydro is partnering with Open Technologies to offer virtual building audits or decarbonization plans to eligible customers at no cost. The latter’s Virtual Decarbonization Planning tool employs artificial intelligence to help building owners and managers quickly and accurately assess the best retrofit strategies for their properties to optimize energy savings and reduce emissions.
