Three new board members joined the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) Board of Directors during the 2024 Fall Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. FGIA welcomes Scott Corley (ODL), Chris Giovannielli (Kawneer Company) and Stacha Reed (Andersen Corporation) to the Board.

Statistics Canada, The Daily, has released its data on building permits for August 2024. The total value of building permits in Canada decreased by $858.1 million to $11.5 billion in August, following a strong July during which construction intentions rose sharply. The residential and non-residential sectors contributed to the decrease in August.

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has updated a specification and test method intended to model, through accelerated testing, the normal wear that can be expected during the life of a typical AW Class window or door. AAMA 910-24, Life Cycle Specifications and Test Methods for AW Class Windows and Doors, an FGIA document, is now available.

VanAir Design, maker of the ventilated VanAir Door, and Metrie, a large North American manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, announce a partnership benefiting construction projects in Western Canada. VanAir Design will supply its VanAir Door to Metrie and its customers to fulfill commercial, single-family, and multi-family interior door projects from British Columbia to Manitoba.

Fenestration Canada hosted WinDoor at Montreal's Palais de Congres Nov. 13 - 14. The annual trade show welcomes window and door manufacturers and dealers from across Canada. Final attendance numbers were not available as of this writing, but the aisles were crowded at times and exhibitors reported good quality contacts. Sessions were well attended and the content was excellent.
