Editor's Note

When it comes to tariffs, I think OCS said it best: unthinkable. Let's survive this and support each other while our government (hopefully) inflicts maximum reciprocal pain on the Trump-supporting parts of America.

Float glass on proposed round two tariff list, public review open

The federal government has posted a list of proposed items to include in a potential second round of retaliatory tariffs to be implemented at the end of the month if the U.S. government does not lift its across-the-board 25 percent tariffs imposed on March 4. Ottawa is seeking public input on the proposed list until March 25.

FENESTRATION CANADA STATEMENT REGARDING U.S. TARIFFS

A 25% tariff in the U.S. on most imported Canadian goods was put into place March 4. Registration open and agenda posted for FenCon 2025

An old favourite is back again. Fenestration Canada has brought back Fenestration Manitoba's flagship event, FenCon, coming April 9 through 11 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Registration is open and some of the education agenda is posted. We're looking at discussions of exterior insulation and how it works around windows, an update from Efficiency Manitoba and some education about fire-resistive glazing. Most of all, it's a welcome chance to get the band back together in Winnipeg, ancestral home of the Canadian window and door industry.
