The Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute (FESTI) is planning for training activities following this pandemic and we are committed to the safety and education of our students. We recognize that planning for the future is difficult and it is our intention to continue to provide training to all our students. This training may extend beyond originally planned dates, but the students of FESTI will receive their education and practical evolutions.
We have modified our presentations so that students could access online modules and take this time at home to master the theoretical lessons. As we prepare for practical evolutions, our focus remains on the safety of our students and staff. We have implemented daily self-assessments, PPE programs and training activities while exercising social distancing. We were successful at completing our modified aircraft rescue firefighter practical evolutions and maintained appropriate distances while completing dry chemical and interior hose line operations. We are finalizing plans for our NFPA 1001 students as they have completed their theory via online modules and await their return to FESTI.
Our updated NFPA 1041 course is about to be launched and the certification exam will be the only requirement to be completed at FESTI. Our NFPA 1035 program is being finalized and will be presented in a blended format as well.
FESTI is responsive to current education changes by updating our NFPA 1001 online modules, modifying practical dates and delivery techniques and enabling online courses and Instructor presentations. We are dedicated to the safety of students and staff and prepared to train and equip students in a safe environment. Visit www.festi.ca today and let us help you Rise Further.
