Would-be thieves fail to steal fire truck

Six Nations Fire was called to an unusual break in on Aug. 16. An alarm went off at Fire Station #3 in Oshweken, Ont., at 6:07 p.m. When crews arrived less than 10 minutes later they saw that the station's garage door was completely destroyed. They say a vehicle drove right through the door. Would-be thieves tried unsuccessfully to hot wire a pumper truck. >> Read full article

Man charged for starting wildfire

A man is facing a charge of arson in relation to a small forest fire earlier this month near Coldbrook, N.S. The fire burned for a short time in the woods in Kings County. Between Aug. 1 and 15, the Environment Department says 28 people have been warned and four charged for igniting a fire without a permit during a province-wide fire ban. >> Read full article
