Alberta firefighter dies of leukemia

Firefighters from across Alberta gathered in Fort McMurray to honour their young colleague, known as “Unbreakable Bo,” who died this month after a long battle with leukaemia.


Firefighter treated after exposure to suspected fentanyl

A Winnipeg firefighter-paramedic received emergency treatment after he was exposed to what might have been fentanyl on the job. Alex Forrest, president of the United Firefighters of Winnipeg, said the firefighter paramedic was with a crew responding to a possible fentanyl overdose in a home when we started having trouble with his throat.


Winnipeg crews seeing spike in overdoses

Winnipeg first responders are dealing with overdoses every day in what has become a fentanyl crisis in Manitoba’s capital, the head of the city’s firefighters union said on Wednesday.

Mayor to intervene in union, administration dispute
