Algoma District departments receive equipment grant

Algoma District volunteer fire and rescue teams in Ontario will be replacing some old equipment soon, thanks to funding received through Jenny's Heroes Canada Ontario Fire Services Equiment Grants.


Firefighters’ union raises concerns over strategic planning process

An executive with the Ontario Professional Firefighters Association has blasted the City of Thunder Bay for its strategic planning process, which he called flawed, biased and rushed.


Volunteer departments can apply for free turnout gear

The 2019 application period for MSA’s annual Globe Gear Giveaway is now open. Thirteen fire departments will each receive four sets of new state-of-the-art turnout gear, for a total of 52 sets. The program is a partnership of Globe by MSA, DuPont Protection Solutions and the National Volunteer Fire Council.
