Edmonton needs four new fire halls, four upgraded stations to hit response targets, city says

The City of Edmonton plans to build four new fire stations and upgrade several existing ones to bridge a potential gap in service in coming years.


Brampton fire fighters raising thousands in funds for Movember men’s health programs

Last year, Ontario’s Brampton Professional Fire Fighters Association and Brampton Fire and Emergency Services raised $23,362 during Movember. The fire fighters are looking to surpass that number by raising $25,000 and have already received more than $6,000 in donations.


Plan to hire 40 firefighters in four years approved by Langley Township council

Langley Township, B.C., will try to hire 40 new firefighters over the next four years, council has decided. Councillor Tim Baillie, a retired firefighters himself, put forward the motion at the first Township council meeting since the new mayor and councillors were sworn in earlier this month.
