Understanding and managing aphids

Fruit and Vegetable magazine invites you to join us on March 11 at 2 p.m. ET for a FREE webinar on managing aphids. Generously sponsored by BASF, this 60-minute webinar is designed to provide attendees with a thorough understanding of the pest, including discussion on basic aphid biology and reproduction as it relates to timing, seasonal movement and buildup in crops.

Feature presenter, Hannah Fraser, entomologist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, will discuss direct and indirect injury, integrated pest management and biological control, common problem species as well as insecticide groups targeting aphids, registered in Canada, in context of resistance management.

After developing an understanding of aphid development and the pest’s impact on fruit and vegetable crops in Canada, Anne McRae, BASF technical specialist in horticulture and insecticides, will introduce Versys Insecticide, the latest tool in aphid management from BASF. Discussion will focus on how this new aphid solution fits into an integrated pest management system and tips to maximizing its performance.
