The Certificate of Recognition (COR) program is an incentive program that recognizes and rewards agricultural employers in British Columbia for implementing an effective Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program.
AgSafe is the non-profit health and safety association for agricultural producers in B.C., providing on-site safety consultation and education, as well as online workplace safety resources and materials. AgSafe is also the WorkSafeBC COR Certifying Partner for B.C.’s agricultural-associated industries and offers the COR program for large and small employers.

However, striking a balance between this and safety is crucial to protect workers and prevent workplace fatalities. In Canada, agriculture is the third most hazardous industry. Incidents involving machinery account for more than 70 per cent of fatalities in the sector.

The OFA is supporting a new research project to develop biodegradable bale wrap and twine. Plastic twine and bale wrap used on farms has limited recycling options, often ending up in municipal landfills, and OFA is hoping this new product, and the technology used to develop it, will offer solutions to reduce on-farm plastic use.
