Food waste reduction competition launched

The Food Waste Reduction Challenge will accept concept applications until Jan. 18, 2021. Applicants with a business model that can prevent or divert food waste at any point from farm-to-plate can receive up to $10.8 million.


WALI calls for TFW employer feedback

The Western Agriculture Labour Initiative (WALI) and the B.C. Agricultural Council have put out a call for comments from employers of temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in British Columbia, due on Nov. 26.

Emergency On-Farm Support still available for most provinces

The Government of Canada is investing a total of $35 million to improve health and safety on farms through the Emergency On-Farm Support Fund. Funding is intended to help farmers better protect workers during COVID-19. All provinces and territories except for British Columbia are still accepting applications, which are reviewed as they are received; priority is given to farms at the highest risk of an outbreak. » Read more...
