Next-generation greenhouse energy solutions

May 26, 2021 @ 2pm (ET)

Register for this webinar and explore three on-going projects at the University of Windsor that aim to minimize energy use in greenhouses.

The first will examine the most efficient way to provide plants with an optimum growing environment. This novel growth-climate energy model links the environment surrounding the individual plant to the crop canopy and to the building envelope. The second project aims to help enable a five-fold expansion of the Leamington-Kingsville greenhouse region, underpinned by the development of smart low-carbon distributed energy resource networks. The final project leverages 3D printing to develop radically new building envelopes for next-generation greenhouses custom-tailored for remote regions.
