B.C. relaunches New Entrant Farm Business Accelerator Program

B.C. has relaunched the New Entrant Farm Business Accelerator Program, with the goal of assisting "new and small-scale farmers grow their business and help strengthen food security in their communities." Farmers can now apply for the first phase of the program which provides support for business planning and a growth strategy.


Government of Canada invests $100,000 to boost agriculture production

FedNor announced the Government of Canada's investment of $100,000 in AgriTech North (ATN), an indoor agriculture social enterprise located in Northwestern Ontario. The enterprise is receiving $100,000 to purchase and install an Enersion solar tri-generation system.


$33-million Homegrown Innovation Challenge aimed to improve Canada’s food security

The Weston Foundation's $33-million Homegrown Innovation Challenge is designed to "encourage innovation in domestic fruit and vegetable production," in Canada. Launched in February 2022, 15 teams were chosen as recipients of grants of $50,000 each to build their visions and lay out how they would scale up their concepts should they move to the next phase of the challenge.
