A new report from RBC's Climate Action Institute is touting the potential of the Canadian greenhouse sector as being a 'pillar' of the country’s agri-food growth and sustainability well in to the future. The report, entitled "The Greenhouse Boom: How indoor farming can transform food production and exports," was published on June 12, 2024, and offers an in-depth analysis of Canada's fruit and vegetable greenhouse sector and its potential for astronomical growth. I know you’re probably reading this in June (or later), but I’m writing having just thoroughly enjoyed the ‘ACT BC Grower Summit’ in Langley at the very end of April. ‘ACT’ (‘Advancing Cultivation Technology’), is the brainchild of a consortium of industry partners (Philips, Priva, Grodan, and Svensson) and the B.C. event was one of a series put on across Canada and the U.S. (You can read a much fuller report of the meetings elsewhere in Greenhouse Canada.)
