Protective Measures
The city of Toronto was the first to adopt legislatives measures to protect birds' lives. Since then other municipalities across Canada have either joined this significant environmental initiative or are about to. The Canadian government recognized the importance of this phenomenon and requested that the Canadian Standard Association come up with a new standard. In June 2019, the new A460 standard on bird-friendly buildings was created.

Sustainable Solution

Today, the AviProtek^® bird safe glass solutions with their 1st surface visual markers are the only one with an EPD certification. With AviProtek^® bird safe glass options, architects and building owners can now meet their energy and environmental goals.

AviProtek^® comes in three different options:

AviProtek^® : monolithic bird friendly glass with acid-etched visual markers on 1st surface
AviProtek E^® : this solution combines the visual markers on the 1st surface with Vitro's Solarban^® high performance low-e coatings on the 2nd surface.
AviProtek T^® : is a highly effective yet discrete bird friendly glass solution using Pilkington NA's pyrolytic coated glass on the 1st surface.
