StatsCan building permits report: February 2021

The total value of building permits issued in February broke the $10 billion mark for the first time, as a jump in the non-residential sector more than offset the decline in the residential sector.


New IPAF Toolbox Talks focus on fall-protection equipment

Newly released Toolbox Talks, designed to share specific safety messages on work sites, are now available from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). They are two short presentations aimed at explaining the use of personal fall-prevention equipment (PFPE) when using Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and what to look for when checking PFPE before use.


Slick documentary discusses quality certification in the glass industry

Drexel University has worked with the Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council to make a full half-hour documentary discussing the glass industry, its approaches to quality and the role of contractor certification in improving the future of the sector.
