Labour shortages are back with a vengeance: CFIB

More than half of small businesses (55 per cent) cannot get all the staff they need for current operations or to meet new demand, while another 16 per cent were able to face the challenge, but at a significant additional cost, according to a new report by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) entitled Labour shortages are back with a vengeance.


Halio attracts major private equity investment

Halio has announced an additional $100M in financing led by inside investors SK and Capricorn Investment Group. SK is Korea’s third-largest company with more than USD 68 Billion in annual revenue. Halio aligns with SK’s focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) materials solutions.

Calgary airport expansion fuels big jump in industrial permits

The total value of building permits rose 4.3% to $10.1 billion in September, led by Ontario (+6.3%). Construction intentions in the residential sector were up 8.2%, while the non-residential sector decreased 3.2%.
