Ontario WSIB appoints new health and safety chair

On June 23, 2022 Sean McFarling was appointed to the position of Chair of the WSIB’s Health and Safety Committee. Sean joined the WSIB Board in February 2020 just before the pandemic began and has been serving most recently as Vice Chair of the Health and Safety Committee.


Ontario glaziers reach agreement on new ICI contract

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) and the Architectural Glass and Metal Contractors Association (AGMCA) reached an agreement on a new contract for unionized glaziers working under the Ontario Provincial ICI Construction Collective Agreement on June 29, ending a strike that began on June 13.

Petersen opens new facility to serve Western Canada

Petersen continues to expand the reach of its trusted PAC-CLAD brand by opening a manufacturing facility in Bonney Lake, Wash. The 57,000-sq.-ft. facility shipped its first order in May, and will be fully operational in early 2023.


Skills Ontario is hosting camps across the province to encourage career exploration for youth

This summer, Skills Ontario is hosting skilled trade and technology summer camps for youth entering grades 7, 8, and 9 across the province. With hands-on activities, industry tours, and more, youth can develop their skills and learn about their career paths through sessions led by Skills Ontario staff and skilled professionals.
