OGMA celebrates 35 years with new logo and website

In 2024 the OGMA decided to upgrade its look. For 35 years we rocked our blue and white letters as our logo, but it was time for much needed upgrade. As 2025 came around as our 35th anniversary year, so did our new logo. When generating our logo we wanted to incorporate both the metal and glass aspects of the building envelope system, just as our name suggests. With our new logo you can see the steel structure of the building as it is being cladded with the glass and panel exterior.

Woods to replace Harris at NGA

The National Glass Association (NGA) has announced Lakisha Ann Woods as NGA’s new president and CEO effective July 14, 2025. Woods will replace 35-year NGA veteran, Nicole Harris, in the association’s staff leadership role. Woods is the former executive vice-president and CEO of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) where she grew revenue 40 percent and grew membership to a historic high of over 100,000.

The 215 new condo sales in the City of Toronto in Q1 fell to its lowest level since 1990, according to the Q1-2025 Condominium Market Survey by Urbanation.

Permits rise in February in all three non-residential categories

In February, the total value of building permits issued in Canada increased by $371.3 million (2.9 percent) to $13.1 billion. Gains in construction intentions were led by British Columbia's non-residential sector. On a constant dollar basis (2017=100), the total value of building permits issued in February grew 3.2 percent from the previous month and was up 5.6 percent on a year-over-year basis.
