Ontario glaziers ratify contract

During the months of March, April and May, 2025, the Architectural Glass and Metal Contractors Association and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and the Ontario Council of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades met to discuss all outstanding issues in connection with the 2025-2028 ICI sector collective agreement. As a result of province wide voting held on Saturday May 10, 2025, members of the Glaziers Union voted in favour of ratifying the AGMCA’s final offer in negotiations.

Two quarters of decline for ICI building permits

In March, the total value of building permits issued in Canada decreased by $549.4 million (-4.1%) to $12.9 billion. The decrease was led by the non-residential sector (-$716.3 million), and it was tempered by the residential sector (+$166.9 million).
