Cannabis could curb opioid crisis, Canopy Growth CMO says

While cannabis and opioid use both have risks for dependency, Dr. Mark Ware said that the level of risks and addiction is not the same. “If you take opioids in higher-than-intended doses, it can cause death. If it’s contaminated, it can kill you,” Ware explained.


Flowr and Hawthorne Canada opens facility for cultivation research

The new R&D Centre, located in Kelowna, B.C., includes state-of-the-art laboratories, indoor grow suites, and training areas in a single building. Flowr is looking to test cultivation systems and techniques with Hawthorne’s lighting, fertilization and irrigation systems.


Aurora hit by ‘cybersecurity incident’ on Christmas

The Edmonton-based cannabis producer says the incident took place on Dec. 25, but did not share what data was involved or how it was accessed. Spokesperson says Aurora’s patient systems were not compromised and the company’s network of operations is unaffected.
