As climate change intensifies summer heatwaves, cannabis employers should prepare for extreme heat, and have plans in place to mitigate the risk of heat exposure and related illnesses. “WorksafeBC data shows that workers in agriculture and manufacturing are prone to heat stress. This poses a risk for the cannabis industry because it has both indoor and outdoor workers,” says Mike Nielsen, director of prevention field services at WorkSafeBC.
